It is with great joy for many students to learn that JAMB has actually released the results of the 2009 UME held on the 4th of April 2009. JAMB initially hinted students that the results would be released just after Easter on Tuesday 14 making it exactly ten days after the said examinations. Now students can check their Jamb results at the JAMB office or go online at myjambresult.com with their scratch cards.

Although they were officially released yesterday, the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Adedibu Ojerinde said the results were ready last week Friday, six days after the exam was conducted. According to Ojerinde, a total of 1,182,381 candidates registered for the examination while 1,145,961, representing 96.92 per cent sat for the test. This year too, the number of male applicants for the exam, which was put at 56.48 per cent was higher than female applicants, which was 43. 52 per cent. The JAMB boss, who said the results have been put online advised candidates to check at www.myjambexams.com, adding that a total 23,819 cases of examination malpractice was recorded in the exercise, signifying a reduction of about 2.24 per cent when compared to the rate in 2008. This year, a female candidate, Edem Ekpoawan Irene from Cross River State with Registration No. 92372543CC scored 310 marks and emerged the overall best candidate. Igugu Friday Obukowho, male from Delta State, Odinde Henrieta Konye, female, from Delta State and Moses-Gombo Kuroyefa Raymond, male from Bayelsa State scored 308 marks respectively, emerging second in the test. Ojerinde clarified some issues in the proposed Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which may replace the JAMB, Monotechnic, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education (MPCE) examinations, saying the idea is that candidates can use "one stone to kill six birds." "The board's Matriculation Examinations are not scrapped as erroneously reported in the some newspapers. Rather, the idea is to have a single examination for all tertiary institutions, which gives candidates wider choice of institutions, and this will invariably enhance their chances of securing admission into tertiary institutions. "The general entry requirement to all institutions will remain the same five credits passes at Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) while the entry qualification will be determined by the individual institution," he explained." My fello guys wt is happening? Do we need girls to t8k over d sit of power? Average no of boys are higher to that of girls following (ojerinde's ranking). A damsel (girl) was d overall. Frm niger delta region, they r wt full force to recovering there own percentage of nigerian economy, boys where r u?
